Project HIER, Rabobank, Podium and Leren voor duurzame ontwikkeling have created a free webquest program for high schools and colleges. The material is suitable for teachers of all classes. For each class the teacher will learn what content can be substituted by the webquest program.

If you ever sign a petition, and the company later informs you that they have taken action, show them your gratitude! Don’t take them for granted (even though you probably aren’t to fond of the company in the first place), and e-mail them back with a thank you for responding to your wish!

The impact of fair trade on western representation

We buy fair trade products because hopefully it improves the life quality of people who live in poverty.

An interesting research subject to me is: how does fair trade initiatives change representation of the western world in third world countries?

If it helps change the negative representation of the western world, wouldn’t it be an excellent idea to start fair trade initiatives in the Muslim world? How about starting these fair trade initiatives in the oil industry?!

Keep a close eye on the Fairfood website this Thursday June 21st. General director Eelco Fortuijn anounced that after their 2006 pilot, the media campaign will start on this date. Fairfood is an independent organization that judges food companies on their product fairness (human rights and environment).
